Step 1

First, draw a basic curve, draw the back, head and divide into 3 body parts. It helps you draw the body of a hippo.

Step 2

Next we will draw four small circles for the legs and a circle for the hippo head.

Step 3

Now we need to create the rough shape of the leg.

Step 4

Draw a hippopotamus outline.

Step 5

Remove the pencil sketches and draw the legs, go into the details.

Step 6

Now you will add different shades and darken the distant parts of the animal with a pencil. The shadows will make your drawing more realistic.

Step 7

In this tutorial, I have guided simple drawing with a pencil. Finally color the hippopotamus so that it becomes more realistic.
