The anteater is a funny looking animal with a long muzzle, good for sucking ants! Start by making that snout. It should be one side, very long V-shaped. Try to make it round and not pointed!
Next, place a small round eye near the base of its snout. Be sure to place an ear above and behind the eyeball.
We can now draw its neck, shoulders and forelegs! Make sure its snout is slightly bent, make the next one, then bend it almost straight down in front of its legs. You can draw a U-shape for his foot, before arching it to start drawing his belly!
Before doing the rest of his belly, put his front legs! Just draw two curves side by side, before your feet. Then draw some small claws like fingers, where the curves meet!
Now we can draw the rest of our bellies! It should bend down slowly at first, before moving to the hind legs. If you have problems with your feet, try drawing on a claw-shaped socks. The other side of the right leg is bent at the anteater's hip.
Now get the other leg back. It looks like a stocking shape going down from the back, with claws at the end.
We are almost done! Now make a long, strong back for the anteater. It should curve up at first, before bending down, but almost flat.
Now make a busy tail, like a feather scarf! The ants have a very dim tail, so the bigger and bushier the better!
The ants have an extremely dark fur that starts under the chin and ends about half of the back on its body. Make sure you have one too! It should be a wavy V-shape, to one side that starts just below its eyes, and right on its feet. Your anteater is complete! Be sure to color in the dark areas of it that you just drew.
