Step 1

There will be a lot of sharp corners that we will draw in this church drawing tutorial, so to make it easier, you should use a ruler when drawing.

With that in mind, we'll start in the steeple of the church. Using the ruler we mentioned, use some straight lines to create the pointed top of the bell tower.

Then you can draw some triangular windows on its bottom.

You can then draw a thin ledge underneath that base before adding lines down for the next part of the bell tower. This section will also have some triangular windows set up in it.

Before you move on to the next step, use your ruler to place a cross at the top of the bell tower.

Step 2 - Next, draw the slope

Things can get a bit complicated for the next few steps of your church drawing, so be sure to keep a close eye on reference images as you draw!

First, use the ruler to add another part of the steeple. You can then use it to draw the roof sloping down from it by drawing several closely spaced lines for the slope.

There will be some space left in the lines where we'll add more elements later, so this is where you'll want to keep a close eye on the reference image.

Step 3 - Draw the overall outline of the church

The next step of our church drawing tutorial can look like a lot of things, but as long as you follow the image closely one more time, you should have no problem drawing it!

We will use a series of vertical and horizontal lines to create the walls and floor for the church.

Again, we'll leave some space for more elements later, so once you've copied the reference image, you can move on.

Step 4 - Draw some windows and other details

Now we will add some windows and smaller details to your church drawing. First, draw a small roof over the front part of the church.

Then we will add some thin windows on either side of the door and these will have a flat base with a rounded top.

You could finish with some thinner windows on the side of the church and a few more details.

Step 5 - Now draw the base of the church

You are doing great with this how to draw a church tutorial! For now, we will continue with the base of the church.

Draw some straight, horizontal lines along the bottom of the church for this base.

You can then finish this step by drawing a small covered deck area with some stairs leading to it on the right hand side of the church.

Once you've done that, we can add some final details in the next step of the tutorial!

Step 6 - Complete your church drawing

Now you are ready to complete your church drawing in preparation for the final step. First, draw some details for the front part of the church.

These details will include some steps leading to a door, and then you can draw another fancy window above it.

Finally, you can finish by adding some final details throughout the church. These details will include some lines on the interior of the window, but you can also add some of your own!

Maybe there could be some bushes along the church, or some people walking into it. Here are some ideas, but what else can you think to end this?

Step 7 - Finish your church drawing with some colors

The seventh and final step of this how to draw a church tutorial will help you finish it off with some color.

In our reference image, we used some more muted colors to give it a more subdued feel. We used some light beige for the walls of the church and then used some dark blue for the different roofs.

These are the colors we chose, but feel free to use any other color you want for it!

You can then decide what art medium you'll use for your color choices, so make sure you have creative fun with your colors when you're done! - https://htdraw.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/How-To-Draw-A-Church.jpg - https://htdraw.com/how-to-draw-a-church-step-by-step/
