Living Room drawing Step by Step

Step 1

Before you start this tutorial on how to perspective a room, there are some drawing tools that really make the process much easier.

The main tool that you will definitely want to have on hand will be a ruler, as there will be many lines and measurements to create for this portrait.

You may also want to have a pencil on hand if you usually draw with pens, as this will help you if you have to draw any elements that could make mistakes.

Once you have everything you need, we can take the first step! Now we will draw some simple lines.

In this first section, you should do your best to copy the lines exactly as they appear in our reference image, and this is the part where you might want to start with a pencil.

Once you've finished drawing the lines like in our example, you'll be ready for the second part of the tutorial.

Step 2 – Now, draw some furniture for the room

The lines that you drew in the previous part of this room perspective drawing will be there to give the illusion of depth to the image.

Everything else we draw will be drawn along these lines to contribute to the illusion.

With your ruler, you can draw a modern looking rectangular sofa on the left side of the image. Then you can draw a small rectangular cabinet on the right side of the picture.

With these pieces of furniture, you'll be ready for the third step of the tutorial.

Step 3 – Draw some more furniture and details

Continuing with this tutorial on how to perspective a room, we will add some more furniture along with some details to the existing furniture.

First, draw a long, flat rectangle for a small table in the center of the image. This will then have some square pins on it. There will also be another smaller footrest above this one.

Then, paint some small, elegant pillows and small details onto the sofa from the previous step. Finally for this step we will draw a window on the right hand side of the image.

This will be rectangular and inside there will be a thinner rectangular section above it. With these elements drawn, we can move on to adding some more in the fourth step of the tutorial!

Step 4 – Next, draw some more details for the room

Now we're going to add some detail to the elements you've drawn so far in this part of your room's perspective drawing.

Using your ruler, we will draw a grid pattern on the rectangular part of the left part of the room and we will draw another grid on the window.

Even for details like this, you'll want to tilt it to help create the illusion of depth in the room.

With these parts drawn, we will continue to add some details and final elements in the next step of the tutorial.

Step 5 – Add Final Details to Your Room Perspective

This fifth step in our tutorial on how to perspective a room will help you add some details and final elements to the image.

First, draw some wavy lines for the style on the left side of the room. Then, draw a series of squares and rectangles on the far wall of the room.

Finally, we will add some lines on the roof and you can finish that by adding some small circles for lights there.

Once all these details are completed, you can add some details and elements of your own!

This is your chance to show off your interior design, so what will you do to complete this amazing design?

Step 6 – Complete your room perspective drawing with color

We created a sleek, modern design for this room perspective drawing, and this is also reflected in the colors we chose for our example image.

We kept the colors a bit cooler and darker in our reference image, and while you can choose a similar look, you can also express your own color creativity with any What other shade do you love!

What colors, art mediums and other costs will you choose to complete this amazing room perspective drawing?
